Bede’s Prep Welcomes Back ‘Old Bedians’

On Saturday 23 September, Bede’s Prep welcomed back alumni for an afternoon of tea and tours.

It was a delight to see so many familiar faces, as well as some new, and to share fond memories with one another along with current and former members of Bede’s staff.

We even had the pleasure of catching up with some of our ‘old boys’ who attended St Bede’s in the 60s and 70s. Our alumni travelled far and wide to attend this event; Freddie Debuisne had come over on a day trip from Dunkirk and Mike Reynolds and his wife Nicki have recently returned from their adventures in Australia.

The former Bedians spent time sharing photos and comical anecdotes from their school days, before being led on a thorough tour of the Prep School.  This evoked further reminiscing and stories as they visited the various areas of the School that have since changed, including the new additions.

However, it was the Year 3 and 4 classrooms, at the top of the School, that were of particular interest as these had once been the boys’ dormitories. It was most impressive that our visitors could even remember exactly where their beds had been positioned within the dorms.

It was wonderful to see everyone reunite and enjoy the day and we shall keep you updated for the next event.
