On Sunday 24 June, we were delighted to welcome a host of alumni for our annual Family Fun Day and Twenty20 cricket match against the Headmaster’s Team at the Old Waye Cricket Ground, Bede’s Senior School, in Upper Dicker.

The weather was very much on our side, with bright blue skies and sunshine throughout the day. The event kicked off with a mid-morning breakfast in the Pavilion, before the match commenced at 11am. The Alumni XI batted first and gave an impressive performance, scoring 192 all out.

Next up was a hog roast BBQ lunch and a few refreshing drinks, before the Headmaster’s XI took their turn to bat. Led by Senior School Headmaster Peter Goodyer, the team demonstrated great sporting prowess and took the overall victory with a score of 196 for 7, winning the match by three wickets.

After the match, both teams enjoyed some well-earned beers and relaxed in the rest of the afternoon’s sunshine.

Many thanks to all who came along and made the day such a wonderful success. We hope to see you at next year’s event!
