In the Pre-Prep years at Bede's, pupil work is evaluated by teachers and parents, and by the pupils themselves.
Every child owns a Topic Book filled with recorded achievements, goals and rewards, and aside from this they also carry a booklet of accolades which they have earned.
Lastly, pupils also earn Learning Companions for various tasks they have achieved - soft toys which they can carry around between lessons and who sit on their desks as symbols of a specific achievement.
These Learning Companions are given out in assemblies, during a section where explicit focus is placed on the triumphs of individual children.
Considered in the round, these gestures help to foster a sense of healthy competition and personal pride in our pupils, empowering them to think for themselves and see one another as role models
