Drama: Year 3 Performs 'Jonah: A Fishy Tail'

On Thursday 17 and Friday 18 January, Year 3 parents and specially invited guests were treated to the perfect antidote to the wintry weather - a trip to sunny Spain, courtesy of Year 3's production of 'Jonah, a Fishy Tail' by Mary Cliff and Kelly Fort.

IMG_9229Full of music and song, the action began on a sunny beach where Jonah (Josh Swanepoel/Josh Sudan) was enjoying a little peace and quiet while working on his tan. God spoke to him commanding him to go to Nineveh where the wickedness of its pirate citizens could no longer be ignored but Jonah chose instead to run away to Spain with a lovely, if slightly cheeky, senorita (Lyla Endean/Rose Peppe).

IMG_9227On the way he met bold sailors and survived a terrible storm, only to have an encounter with a rather enormous whale. In the end, aided and abetted by his chatty friend the crab (Kirsten Orr/Matilda Collins), Jonah arrived in Nineveh and delivered God's message to the pirates, most notably the infamous Peg-it and Leg-it (Theo Plank/Ethan West and Phoebe Wells/Milly Gibson). All ended well as the whole cast joined the repentant pirates in a rousing finale, 'God's Love Never Stops'. A thoroughly good time was had by all!
