History: Year 6 Trip to Battle Abbey

On Thursday 5 September, which was possibly the hottest day in September, Year 6 set out to learn more about why there were three Kings of England in 1066 and much, much more by visiting Battle Abbey.

The day was spent visiting the interactive museum, travelling around the battle field and ruins to find out for themselves why England ended up with a Norman King.

This was the first History visit of the new school year and will play an integral part of the children's historical investigations, experiencing first-hand what it would have been like for those long ago Saxon and Norman soldiers.
