Tennis: Brandon Wins Sussex Summer County Tour
Bede's Prep School pupil Brandon Armstrong won the U9 Sussex Summer County Tour this year, playing in 6 tournaments between June and September.
The competition, otherwise known as the 'Mini-Orange', sees young players competing on smaller courts and using 50% slower balls. Winners are then determined from the results of the 6 tournaments played from Grade 4 and 5 across Sussex.
One of the highlights of the tournaments for Brandon was that he also secured a sponsorship deal with Tecnifibre in July, meaning that he now plays exclusively with Technifibre equipment.
Earlier in the 2013, through hard work and stiff competition, Brandon also secured a Sports Scholarship for Years 5 and 6 at Bede's Prep, where he plays Tennis for the School and is coached by Ms Jane Nash and Ms Francesca Scollo, with Strength and Conditioning instruction from Tony Morriss.
Whilst in Year 4 at the school, Brandon helped Bede's Prep win the U9 and U11 Sussex County School Tennis Competitions and the U12 IAPS National competition where he and his partner made the Plate Semi Final in the Doubles.
Brandon is now playing in the U10 age group (otherwise known as 'Mini-Green'), and with his coaches at Bede's and his new coaching team at Eastbourne Sports Park he is looking to build on his recent successes in the future.
