History: Year 6 Trip to Lewes Castle

8

Continuing with their Medieval Conquer & Control studies Year 6, visited Lewes Castle on Thursday 3 October.

Typically the heavens opened when we arrived but this did not dampen the childrens' enthusiasm for the trip.

They experienced what defending a Motte and Bailey castle must have been like and learned from their workshop what artifacts were and how important they are as historical evidence.

After a quick trip around the museum and a watch of the film on the History of Lewes and it was back to school for a late lunch!

This was a short visit but essential for the children to learning for themselves about Medieval life.
