Reception: Ceramics Workshop

3

On Tuesday 11 February Reception were treated to an exciting and stimulating Ceramics workshop led by Ms Armitage from the Senior School's Art Department.

The children explored different tools and techniques to create their own individual clay aliens and, having completed a variety of multi eyed, legged, armed creatures, they were given the task of moulding an egg shape for their alien to sleep in.

Using a range of different tools, they then created textures on the clay so their eggs wouldn't roll.

Having become very attached to their individual creations, the eggs and the aliens were carefully taken away by Ms Armitage to put into her 'special heating oven', (the kiln).

We are all very excited to see how the clay will have have changed due to the heating process, and to then choose colours to paint them next week.
