Charity Fundraising: Macmillan Coffee Morning Raises Over £600

Year 4 were amazed at the amount of cakes that pupils throughout the school brought in for the Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday.

The effort that went into the making of all the cakes was truly overwhelming and helped us to raise over £600 for a very worthy cause.

With all the cakes on display, the whole Dining Hall looked and smelled delicious and as our guests started to arrive Year 4 swung into action and proved themselves to be perfect hosts.

The children were attentive, accurate with their change-giving and, at times, very persuasive!

The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming and it was lovely to have children from Holywell joining in the morning. They clearly enjoyed buying and consuming their cakes!

Year 4 continued to do a sterling job when the rest of the school flowed into the Dining Hall at First Break. Despite the large number of pupils and guests, there were still many cakes remaining because of the generosity of the Bede's community.

It was decided that the remaining cakes would go on sale at lunchtime.

What a successful outcome!
