Event Review: Bede's Prep School Arts Festival 2015
The annual Bede's Prep Arts Festival is always brimming over with creativity - from dance to drama, music to painting - and this year was no different.
The School enjoyed an exciting performance of modern dance by the University of Brighton Dance Company, and this was followed by a workshop for Years 3, 4 and 5.
Elsewhere, The Rainbow Theatre Company, old friends of the school, performed Jolly Roger the Pirate to the Pre-Prep and The Saxons to Year 6.
There was also a puppet theatre for the Nursery, devised by James Upton and Oscar Endean, and an all-school Art Exhibition in the Dining Room based on the theme of "An Apple."
'An Apple' by Freya from Year 7
Pupils from Years 3-8 all contributed work to the exhibition, which included poster paints, printing, photography, acrylic, charcoal, water colours, black fine-line pen and cross-hatch, pencil, printing with foam board and collage!
Finally, of the main events of the week saw internationally-renowned band Red Priest performing of their signature Baroque music.
Vivaldi's Four Seasons was the main focus of the dramatically attired quartet, but other composers from the Baroque period such as Purcell were also performed in a display of virtuoso talent.
All in all, it was a mass art-effort and much enjoyed!
