Tennis: Bede’s Boys and Girls Win U9 Sussex Championships

The Sussex Schools County U9 Tennis Championships was hosted by Bede's Senior School on Thursday 5th May, with over 20 teams taking part from across the county.

Through incredibly high, blustery winds, the teams, which were each made up of four Under-8 and Under-9 boys and girls, competed with great determination and superb play, battling not only their competitors but - at times - the weather!

In the boys event, Bede's Prep School won the trophy beating Little Common Primary in the semi finals and Lancing Prep School in the final.

The team of Charlie H, Angus M, Ethan R and Louis J played some outstanding tennis, winning all of their matches in both the singles and the doubles.

Bede's Prep School also won the trophy in the girls event, beating Burgess Hill School for Girls in the semi final and Vale Primary School in a nail-biting final which really came down to the wire!

The team of Angel J, Imogen H, Uliyanna T, Imogen W and Lena B played some magnificent, consistent tennis. Well done to you all!
