Archery: Inspiring The Next Green Arrow!

With their bows carefully positioned and their elbows straight, an air of steely determination descends over Bede's Prep each week as our girls and boys fire off arrows, eager to hit the elusive yellow bullseye and win a prize.

Under the safe and watchful eye of our expert Archery Coach, Mr Mallinson, groups of children - inspired by tales of Robin Hood - enjoy practising the age-old skill of archery, and what a skill to master.

As well as being bags of fun, the activity teaches the children health and safety, spatial awareness, consideration for others and hand-eye coordination, and it has proved to be one of the most favoured options.

Children try their hardest to hit the yellow bullseye and win highly sought after points for their Section: Eagle, Hawk, Raven or Falcon.

Surrounded by the beautiful School grounds in the late summer sunshine, the children were positively buzzing with excitement when their arrows hit the targets last week, with one little girl eager to point out that she was training to be the next Green Arrow!

Looking at her accuracy, I think the supervillains of Eastbourne should be very afraid indeed!
