Rugby: Undefeated Under 9s Visit World Cup Trophy

Head of Rugby Mr Atherton took four of Bede's Prep School's Under 9 Rugby players to visit the World Cup Trophy yesterday.

"I was invited to take along four pupils and decided they should be from last season's undefeated Under 9s team," Mr Atherton explains.

"They worked very hard to accomplish the things they did last season, so they more than deserve it."

Now in Year 5, Louis, Luke, Alex and Charlie visited the illustrious piece of silverware as it was touring Sussex locations including Brighton University and Eastbourne Rugby Club; by the start of the Rugby World Cup on October 18th the trophy will have visited every English county.

"I, like many others, am extremely excited that England is hosting the Rugby World Cup," continues Mr Atherton, "not least because events like these offer brilliant opportunities for coaches and teachers to inspire the next generation of Rugby players.

"We are now looking forward to taking some of our older players to watch The Springboks train on Tuesday 15th and will be sure to report back on the experience once we are back in school."
