Clay Moulding With Year 3
Our Year 3 pupils learnt all about how to make ‘pinch pots’ looking back in history at primitive designs, shapes, patterns and textures.
They had to feel the clay to form a symmetrical cup that was balanced and had the same thickness throughout the form. They even had a go at making them with their eyes closed! No peeking! To show a comparison, the results were better the second time round – eyes open!
Texture was applied, carefully, to make a pattern around the clay on the outside. They were painted on the inside, with pupils painting leaves to make leaf prints.
Some beautiful pieces of work.
