Charity Fundraising: Year 2’s Hanna Completes Sponsored Aerial Adventure

Congratulations to Year 2 Bede’s Prep School pupil Hanna Awan who recently completed the Center Parcs Aerial Adventure in the Longleat Forest to raise funds for local charity Embrace.

Hanna, who is aged just 7, undertook her endeavour on Sunday 20 March and was accompanied by her Mum, Zara, who guided Hanna through the daunting high ropes challenge – a winding route through Longleat’s pinewood forest suspended over 70 meters above the ground which finishes with a 200 meter zip line over a lake.

Now home for Easter while continuing to raise money from the enterprise, Hanna said, "It was really scary but fun too. I loved the zip lines. Mummy looked really scared, and that was funny!"

Hanna was inspired to raise money for Embrace due to the charity’s support of families with children with special needs, as Zara, her mother, explains.

Hanna and her brother.

“Hanna's younger brother has autism, and she knows first-hand the value of the care, advocacy and support provided by Embrace, which is solely funded through donations from the local community.

“To date we have managed to raise £210 and every contribution has made Hanna jump for joy. She's got a head for heights so we thought this could be a good way to raise money for Embrace, and we are so proud of her empathy and maturity.”
