Swimming versus Roedean School
A rather depleted Bede’s Prep School girls’ swimming team swam against Roedean’s U12 and U13 squads on Monday evening, during which the atmosphere was fantastic.
The of the girls all swam very well, some swimming in events they would not usually participate in and showing that they all have the ability to swim all strokes with good technique and speed.
Maddy Baldwin Charles and Ellie Abel swam exceptionally well, taking 1st and 2nd places in the 50m breaststroke in addition to swimming well in the butterfly and front crawl events.
Amelia Entwisle swam well in the 50m Freestyle and Medley relays and, despite her apprehension for swimming backstroke, took 2nd place in the event.
Alex Hawkins, as captain, led the team well, swimming a number of races using a lovely technique and great speed through the water.
Atlanta Woodhall also swam superbly in her front crawl and backstroke events, then stepped out of her comfort zone and swam the 25m Butterfly. Well done Atlanta!
Well done also to Lizzie Morgan, Ayaka Amos and Megan Hadland for swimming in a variety of events and taking each of them out of their usual comfort zones and challenging themselves on greater distances and alternative strokes.
