Bede's Pupils Raise Over £5,000 For The Mlambe Project

The pupils at Bede’s Preparatory School were very excited to take part in a charity walk, raising funds for The Mlambe Project, during the last week of the summer term.

The nine mile sponsored walk, which all pupils from Years 2-8 were involved in, helped the pupils appreciate the distance children in Mlambe have to walk to their school.

On Friday 6 October, Bede’s Preparatory School proudly presented their donation to The Mlambe Project. With the final sponsorship money now collected, Bede’s Preparatory School is very happy to announce that a wonderful £5,596.77 was raised for this very worthy cause.

Saalim, Chair of Trustees for The Mlambe Project, spent time during his visit showing pupils exactly where the money raised was being spent, with photos from his recent visit to Malawi.

Bede’s donation has contributed towards the completion of a new school block, now housing classrooms for Years 7 and 8.

Giles Entwisle, Headmaster of Bede’s Prep School said, “I am so proud of everyone who took part, and would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who sponsored the pupils. I am delighted we have raised so much for such a worthy cause.”
