Bede's Nativity 2017: Lights, Camel, Action!

The Holywell children certainly brought the theatre to life with their ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ themed Nativity.

In Lights, Camel, Action, the Bethlehem Broadcasting Company was recording a dazzling dance show to celebrate the special occasion of Jesus’ birth.

The cast was jam-packed with nativity celebrities. These included funky camels, a disco star and ballet dancing angels, all coming together to recall their roles in the miraculous story.

Lights, Camel, Action was a Christmas celebration like never before, with dance styles ranging from tango to line dancing. With a donkey, innkeeper’s wife and King Caesar as the judges, the scorecards were ready and the audience couldn’t fail to be entertained.

The children were genuinely outstanding. Year 2 learnt their lines brilliantly; their confidence to speak and act in front of packed audiences reflected the skills they learn within school, becoming confident independent members of the school and wider community.

With over seventy performers aged from 3 to 7, the singing really raised the roof and was a wonderful way to get everyone into the festive spirit!
