Bede's Prep, Pre-Prep and Nursery Earn Top Marks in School Inspection
Bede’s Prep School is very happy to announce that it has recently been rated as excellent or outstanding in all areas of its inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
The inspection was divided into three parts; Compliance, Early Years and Educational Quality.
In assessing the Educational Quality of the School, the inspectors found it to be the highest standard of excellent in both categories: the quality of pupils’ academic and other achievements and also in respect of the quality of pupils’ personal development.
The inspectors particularly highlighted the excellent progress made by pupils regardless of starting point as well as the collective and individual success in areas such as sport, dance, art, music and drama and cited the variety of activities as evidence that the School “fully meets its aim to promote each child’s unique talents.”
In terms of personal development, the inspectors felt that pupils were caring towards each other, exhibited self-confidence and a strong understanding of the School’s values.
In its inspection of Bede’s Early Yearsprovision, the inspectors found the Nursery and Pre-Prep to have reached the highest standard of outstanding in all areas, including the quality and standards of the provision, the effectiveness of leadership and management, and in respect of the quality of teaching and learning and outcomes for children.
The inspectors highlighted the way in which staff knew pupils exceptionally well, the children’s very positive attitude to learning and the high levels of parental satisfaction with regard to leadership in the Nursery and Pre-Prep.
Finally, the inspectors found Bede’s to be fully compliant with all regulations.
Commenting on the report, Headmaster Giles Entwisle, said “This report represents a whole-hearted endorsement of the huge commitment and passion for teaching and caring for children which is demonstrated by staff throughout Bede’s Nursery and Prep School, but also the love of learning which our pupils bring with them every day.”
