Bede's Prep Pupils Exhibit at Towner Art Gallery

Our pupils' work has been included in Towner Art Gallery's Annual School's Exhibition, Draw Me In.

Children and young people across Sussex have the opportunity to submit work for the exhibition. As part of the exhibition brief, twelve pieces of art from Towner Art Gallery's collection were selected and put in a starter pack for each school - the children then had the task of responding to one piece of their choosing.

Bede's Prep pupils responded to Rachel Cohen's ‘Read between the lines’, Untitled 1994. They experimented with carved stick and Indian ink, fine line pens, explored drawing with movement and played with repetitive words with their mark making. Using a variety of hand pressures, they used right hand when left-handed and left hand when right-handed.

Pupils designed their own work and cut out the frame for a triangular pyramid, turning their artwork into a three-dimensional form.

The pupils' final installation is available to see at the Towner Art Gallery in Eastbourne until Sunday 2 June.
