Bede's Hosts the Under 10 Tennis County Championships

On Tuesday 7 May, hundreds of children from schools across the county visited Bede’s Senior School for an afternoon of competitive tennis at the U10 County Championships.

25 teams competed for the Sussex Trophies.

The Bede’s Prep U10 Girls won the Girls event following a triumphant win against Moira House in a brilliant final match.

As well as being part of the winning team, Bede’s Prep pupil Matilda received the Individual Girl Fair Play award.

Jane Nash, Head of Tennis at Bede’s Prep, says, “It was fantastic to welcome so many enthusiastic young tennis players for the County Championships; excellent play and sportsmanship was shown by all throughout the afternoon. Special mention must go to Bede’s Prep girls Alexandra, Emma, Serena, Lily and Matilda for their inspired play that led to them lifting the trophy, and Bede’s Prep U10 Boys Callum, Walter, Ralph and Aiden for reaching the semi-final – a great achievement for such a young team.”
