Bede's Tennis players perform in numerous cup competitions throughout the year and enter competitions aimed at all different levels of play.

While our Development Tennis programme used to take place off-site in Eastbourne, since the construction of our new Multi Use Games Area in 2015 these sessions now take place here at Bede’s and are planned with a view to enabling every individual being the best player they can be.

With a significant number of partnerships with local and national tennis organisations, we host a vast number of tennis tournaments at the School and the Development Squad represents Bede’s at a number of friendly, shield and cup fixtures throughout the year.

We were the first sport at Bede's to be crowned National Champions, beating Reeds and Millfield, and are presently ranked 4th in the country. To enable these results, the Development Squad trains up to three times a week and consists of singles and doubles coaching for those girls and boys rated 6.1 or below.

Teamwork plays a major role in our sessions, in conjunction with all other aspects of the game, and strength and conditioning sessions and diet advice are also part of our programme with individual sessions also available under particular circumstances.

With the School fielding teams at U14A and B, U15 and U16 for boys and girls and at U18 for boys, girls and in mixed doubles, our fixture programme is particularly intensive through the Summer Term.
