In 1994, Bede's long-awaited - then outdoor - six-lane pool was opened with a splash.
It quickly became a huge asset to the School's sporting profile as well as providing a venue for use by local clubs in the area.

The pool was then covered in 1997, incorporating Bede's first Fitness Centre and squash complex, and in 2007 a 7,000 square-foot covered expanse was then constructed for indoor sports by Bede's in-house Estates team.
Aside from the 8-court Sports Hall, with electronic score board, ceiling-mounted cricket nets and Sports Stores, this development included the creation of new Staff and Student Changing Rooms, several offices and 4 Squash Courts.
The huge internal area, known as the "MPH" or Multi-Purpose Hall, underwent further alterations to the balcony in 2011 in order that 2 teaching rooms could be built for the expanding Physical Education department.
Most recently, in 2014, the School's Fitness Suite was refurbished and the Swimming Pool was also repaired and enhanced, ready for a new generation of swimmers to take to the water.
