The Bede’s Development Foundation was established in 2016 and has a range of objectives.
It will facilitate excellent communications between all sections of the schools and the extended Bede’s family, regionally, nationally and internationally and will also build and sustain a tradition of benefaction that will be central to Bede’s over future years.
By establishing the Bede’s Development Foundation it is hoped that the unique character of the schools and everything they stand for – inclusiveness, creativity, personalised education – will be celebrated and protected for the benefit of future generations of pupils through the support of the wider Bede’s community.
Like most schools, Bede’s has always sought to provide a measure of bursarial assistance for families who fall on hard times to enable exceptionally able children from families who could not afford full fees to benefit from a Bede’s education.
There are limits to the extent which the School can support families from fee income alone however, and therefore it is the ambition for the Foundation is that it will provide access to a Bede’s education for a greater number of deserving children in the years to come.
We hope that over the coming months and years, many staff, parents, past parents and alumni will want to stay in touch with the progress of the Foundation and offer their support. If you would like to do so, please complete this online expression of interest form.
