The Fifth Form

7 10 1

The Fifth Form at Bede's sees pupils transition from children into young adults as they engage in their chosen course of GCSE studies.

Otherwise known as Year 10 and 11, the Fifth Form at Bede's is delicately balanced between offering rich and varied Co-Curricular, Sporting and Leadership opportunities while also focussing unapologetically on exam success.

GCSE courses offered throughout the UK are changing, and those pupils who entered the Lower Fifth year in 2014 will be the last group to experience the 'old' format with which schools, pupils, universities and employers have become so familiar over the past decades.

We are enormously proud that pupils at Bede's consistently perform at a level beyond that which might have been expected when they first embarked upon their GCSE courses, regardless of the subjects they have chosen to pursue, with opportunities in our Co-Curricular Programme providing pupils with incredible opportunities to seek areas of specialisation

Whilst the focus of the Fifth Form is obviously to build upon the skills and knowledge gained in the First Year and achieve the best grades possible the public examinations, we place an emphasis on equipping pupils not only to succeed academically but to thrive in the Sixth Form and in life after school.

Help and advice in choosing suitable subjects for the Sixth Form is readily available through our Careers Advice Service, an Options Morning for parents and various A Level taster sessions for students.

Let's be honest, at most schools being a Physics and Maths nerd isn't cool. Luckily, at Bede's it genuinely is.
