Car Maintenance and Restoration
Our aim is to restore our project cars, which at the moment are an Austin 7 and an MGB GT, teaching basic engineering and mechanical skills.
Car restoration activity involves completely stripping down the project car to its bare chassis, and then removing all components which are thoroughly cleaned and checked for wear or damage.
These parts are then either refitted or repaired, and some new parts are fitted.
Engines and gear boxes are also removed and rebuilt if necessary, and we then carefully rebuild the cars bit by bit, putting it back in its original state - or making it even better!
“ I have worked at Bede's long enough to see a full generation of young people pass through the School and emerge as capable, confident highly skilled people. It is an honour to work here. ”
