Riding: Bede's Team Qualifies for NSEA Championship
St. Leonards - Mayfield School held their annual National Schools Equestrian Association qualifier for Jumping with Style and Dressage this Saturday.
This is one of many qualifiers held around the country to determine which individual riders or school teams go through to the Championships in October.
Team and Individual placings of 1st and 2nd qualify for this Championship competition to be held at Addington Manor in Buckinghamshire.
This Saturday our team of riders consisted of Charlie Marshall, Alex Young, Hugo Godwin and Meg Wrenn who were placed 2nd out of 11 teams in the 90cm therefore qualifying us for the Championships.
Hugo Godwin was placed 3rd and Charlie 6th out of approximately 41 riders.
It is possible that we have also qualified for the 1m, but I am awaiting confirmation on this as we were placed 3rd but we believe the team above us had already qualified at a previous competition and so they can not qualify twice.
Meg Wrenn also competed in the Prelim Dressage and was placed 9th out of 24 other riders.
On Sunday of this weekend Mrs Marshall also took Charlie Marshall and Alex Young with Charlie's younger sister Izzy team chasing.
They were placed 3rd out of 40 other ADULT teams, which qualifies them to move up to the Intermediate class in October.
This is usually only ridden by adults as the smallest hedges on the course are 3'6", but Charlies has been given a waiver as he is so well known in the racing industry.
Mrs Marshall has to sign a disclaimer to allow Charlie to enter this class, his sister however is too young!
