On Saturday 2 February, Bede's U19 and U16 Netball teams joined Roedean, Colfe's, Christ's Hospital, King's Canterbury and Putney High School at Beneden Girls' School for the first ever English Schools' Fast Net Netball tournament.

Supporting the event, the England Netball Captain Tamsin Greenway presented prizes to the teams assisted by fellow members of the Surrey Storm squad.

A variation on normal Netball, Fast Net is a new, fast-paced form of the sport, introduced in 2008 through the World Netball Series.

Fast Net rule changes include the ability to shoot from outside the circle for 2 points and 'Power Play' - the chance for teams to score double-points during one full quarter of a game.

In the U19 matches, team captain and Head of School Mia Harvey earned praise from all and was declared Player of the Tournament.

Teammate Anuska Greenway, meanwhile, showed further development of her formidable shooting skills.

At U16 level, Charlotte Shooter once again demonstrated her great potential for the sport, while Kayleigh Bonwick, playing in Goal Attack, was the only Bede's player to capitalise on 'Power Play' and score 4 points from one shot during the day-long competition.
