Music: Bede’s band featured on BBC Introducing

How 's Harry2

'How's Harry', a band featuring Bede's students Ike Foulkes, Rupert Colegrave, Lawrence Andrew and Tom Davies, had their song 'I Don't Know' featured on BBC Introducing last weekend.

This marks another first for the band, which is currently very much in ascendance.

Ike, Lawrence and Tom, who are currently preparing for their GCSE's, and Rupert, who is in the Sixth Form, have been playing together for several years.

The band recently released their debut E.P. 'Bite'.

Bite CoverHow's Harry have a dedicated following both at Bede's and throughout Sussex, and have recently played shows in Liverpool and Birmingham.

Their Facebook page presently boasts 445 likes and their debut single, 'I Don't Know', which was played by BBC Introducing last weekend, acquired over 1000 plays on Soundcloud within two days of being uploaded - before the BBC even took interest.

"It's really exciting," said Ike, who sings, plays guitar and writes for the band. "We started out busking originally, and Tom and I have another group, a folk duo called Press Play. Between the two bands things are going really well, but for the next little while the focus has to be on our exams."

A recent review of the Bite E.P. on music website dontneednomelody.com says of the band, "How's Harry are so promising that I imagine they'll get their first Radio 1 play within a couple of months."

Everyone at Bede's gives their congratulations to Tom and Lawrence, who board in Dorms House, Ike, who boards in Camberlot, and Rupert, who is a Day Pupil in Dicker.
