Prep School Cricket Masterclass 2013
Friday 19 April saw Bede's Director of Cricket Alan Wells host a Cricket Masterclass for local Prep School students from Skippers Hill, St Christopher's Hove, St Aubyns, Skillz Cricket Club and Bede's own Prep School.
The twenty children spent the afternoon on Bede's 1st XI pitch being coached by Mr Wells and his team, which included members of Bede's 1st XI, as well as having Strengthen and Conditioning training from Bede's fitness expert Tony Morriss.
After tea the students were joined by their parents to welcome very special guest and Sussex batsman Luke Wells.
Luke, who opens the batting for Sussex, gave valuable insights into the life of a professional cricketer and then took part in a lively question and answer session which saw him fielding questions such as 'Which person do you most fear facing when you are coming into bat' and 'What is it like to play for England?'
At the end of the say the students left Bede's full of enthusiasm for the cricket season, and we wish them all the best of luck in their coming matches.
