Knights: Boys Host Art Sale at Christmas Fair in Aid of Charlie's Challenge
The Knights House Council is responsible for the organisation of Knights House, including the charities the House wishes to support and the charitable events which the House wishes to take part in.
Knights has supported Charlie's Challenge for many years and has recently begun to support Teenage Cancer Trust. To support these two charities, the Knights House Council decided to run an art and photography stall at the Bede's Prep School Christmas Fair.
Artwork was collected from a number of individuals within Knights but also from across the school. On the morning of 30 November, Mr Waterhouse travelled to the Prep School accompanied by Toby Mackay, Jimmy Lee, Sebastian Esson and myself. We then set up the stall ready for the opening of the fair at 10.30, having previously prepared and framed the work.
The parents at the Prep School showed great interest in the work and, encouraged by the our flawless sales skills, a large quantity of pieces were sold raising a total of £350 for our chosen charities, a photograph by Ben Simpson proving to be one of the most popular.
All in all, the morning was a complete success and a big thank you goes out to the boys of Knights House and to the staff of the Art department, Hugh Churcher and Ivan Friedman.
