Old Bede's: Seb Roger Crowned Sussex Sports Personality of the Year
On Friday 29 November an evening of glitz and glamour took place, during which the county's most talented sportsmen and women, volunteers and coaches were celebrated at the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne.
As part of the ceremony, ex-Bede's pupil Sebastian Roger, who competed in the 400m hurdles at the Moscow World Championships last summer, was crowned Sports Personality of the Year.
The 11th annual Sussex Sports Awards, hosted by Active Sussex, welcomed regular host, BBC Sussex DJ Danny Pike and Olympic badminton silver medallist Gail Emms MBE, who gave an inspirational talk about her journey to sporting success.
Entertainment was provided by Brighton-based Parkour Group, The Urban Playground Team.
