Music: Skipper’s Hill Pupils Attend Bede’s Music Masterclass

At the beginning of February, the Bede's Music department played host to some wonderfully talented singers from Skipper's Hill Prep School in Five Ashes and their Head of Music, Mrs Carolyn Holleyman.

The day was led and devised by Bede's Director of Music, Louise Morris, assisted by Mr Robert Scamardella, who is an ex-Bede's pupil, Bede's Deputy Director of Music and one-time BBC Young Musician of The Year.

The day represented an exciting collaboration between Bede's and Skipper's Hill: members of the choir from both schools enjoyed a day of glorious music and singing, ranging from Mary Lynn Lightfoot's 'And This Shall Be For Music' and Jay Althouse's arrangement of 'Peace Like a River'.

The day also included lunch, a tour of the school and the Music department.

Parents from Skipper's Hill were invited at the close of the day to hear a short presentation concert which everyone enjoyed.
