Food and Nutrition: Success in Young Chef Competition
On Tuesday 24th June, Lower Fifth Deis House pupil Marcus Hinchon represented Bede's in the Eastboune Young Chef of the Year Competition.
In one and a half hours he prepared and cooked Rack of Lamb with a Herb Crust, Potatoes Anna, Pea Puree and redcurrant and orange sauce.
The Head Judge Keith Mitchell, the Executive Chef of The Grand Hotel, was very complementary about his dish.
"It was a very tough decision this year," said Mr Mitchell, "as all the dishes were prepared to a very high standard."
As Runner Up, Marcus was awarded a certificate, voucher and book.
