Cricket: Fynn Makes Debut for Sussex 1st XI
18-year-old Bede's leaver and Sussex Academy product Fynn Hudson-Prentice made his first class debut for Sussex yesterday against Glamorgan.
During the hard fought game, Fynn - who recently returned from an England U19 Cricket Tour - did not bat however he bowled 6 overs in the Glamorgan innings.
Fynn said of the experience, "As much as I count this as a lot of the work of the coaches at Sussex and Mr Wells at Bede's, I also believe that it has become because of the school being so willing to push me to challenge myself mentally and become a better person with my attitude and work ethic. For this I am extremely thankful!"
By the end of play, Glamorgan's Jacques Rudolph had eclipsed a superb hundred by Sussex's Luke Wright with an even better one of his own to ease Glamorgan to a 7 wicket victory, determined by a Duckworth Lewis adjusted target.
Rudolph had lost opening partner Jim Allenby, who was caught and bowled by Lewis Hatchett, in the seventh over but ticked over at a run a ball thereafter to ease to the 16th List A century of his career.
Also during the game, Sussex's Luke Wright scored his fifth hundred of the season in all cricket to take his aggregate in the one-day formats to 993, aiding Sussex to pile up 323 for 3 from 48 overs.
During the game, Wright also became the first Sussex batsman to score a hundred in all three formats in the same season, making the match Wright's highest one-day score for the county.
