On Friday the 26th of September, the First Year pupils of Knights House embarked on a challenge to sell as many cakes as possible to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
During the morning of the event, Mr. Waterhouse's office became ever more flooded with cakes and cup cakes, the vast majority of them baked by the boys themselves or by parents at home.
Special mention should go to Sam Leonard, Ed Writer and Pani Kalomenopoulos.
Morning break came around quickly and, while setting up, the amount of cakes donated really started to be noticed. The tables were so full they couldn't fit any more upon them!
A wave of students then lined up to purchase the delicious looking cakes. Each cake cost 50p, no matter what the size, shape, colour or flavour.
The cakes were being sold left, right and center to a constant stream of customers. At the end of break, there were hardly any left, the tables looked bare but the money pot looked full!
A grand total of £89 was raised within half an hour, which meant that the endeavour was a great success.
A big thank you goes to all the staff members, Upper Sixth prefects and First Years who had a hand in organising the sale and selling the cakes themselves, as well as all those who donated the cakes (the quality of which could have challenged those on The British Bakeoff!)
