Music: Bede's Pupils' ABRSM Results Brighten Spring 2015

Music: ABRSM Results Brighten Spring 2015

Yet again, a stunning and well-deserved set of practical music exam results were awarded to five Bede's pupils at the end of the Autumn Term 2014.

The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music represent a benchmark in performance standards and a real achievement for young people in working towards high goals and aspirations.

First Year Conor Woodbridge from Deis House was awarded a Distinction for Grade 6 Violin (a remarkable achievement) and was commended for his tone and developing talent.

Bloomsbury House's Rosa Marks, again in the First Year, achieved a well-earned Merit for Grade 4 Oboe (an ever rarer instrument these days).

Sussex County Netballer and fellow Bloomsbury House girl Anna Dagwell, who is in the Upper Fifth, gained a Pass for Grade 5 Alto Saxophone with the examiner praising her articulation and technique, while Stevie Meffen - also in the Upper Fifth and also from Bloomsbury House - is to be applauded for passing Grade 4 Piano with a Merit.

Other successes include Lower Sixth girl Alexandra de Melo from Crossways House who completed her Grade 2 Drums with the Brighton Rock School board. The examiner praised her cymbal shifts and her rhythmic command in addition to her highly confident and technically accurate playing.

This range of student successes continues to show what a fantastic breadth of talent and musicianship Bede's enjoys. Well done to one and all!
