Physical Education: Upper Sixth Students Organise Charity Sports Day

Tomorrow, Friday 13th March, will see Bede's Upper Sixth Vocational PE Class carrying out a fun Charity Sports Day for Park Mead Primary School. Donate here!

The whole of Park Mead Primary is taking part in the event, which is in aid of Comic Relief, from the Reception Class right up to Year 6 pupils.

At Bede's, the Upper Sixth class have been organising the event for the past month. Everyone has had their own individual role to play in the preparation for the event, from Resource Management and to activity planning for the day.

The day will consists of a Fun Run, Penalty Shootout and Relay Race, with these activities having been chosen because - as a class - we believe that children of all ages should be able to access the challenges in a positive manor and gain the most enjoyment possible out of the event.

The Fun Run, for example, will be of varied distances for the different age groups.

Alongside the sporting activities, some Bede's students will be running cake stands and a tombola where various prizes will be up for grabs - all of which have been purchased by members of the BTEC Sport class as a gesture towards the event.

Donations will be optional and all proceeds will be sent to Comic Relief, but the children of Park Mead have already been fundraising and seeking sponsorship. One family alone has raised over £100!

There is no set target of how much we would like to generate for charity because the aim is to encourage young people to take part in sport. We do however hope that you can spare some time and a few pounds to support us all in this exciting, fun and worthwhile endeavour!
