Physical Education: GCSE Bude Trip 2015

On the 3rd of May 30 GCSE pupils and 3 teachers set off for a week of outdoor and adventurous activities in Bude, Cornwall.

The pupils were developing their skills in climbing, orienteering and canoeing skills as part of their GCSE coursework.

Whilst this trip gave pupils an excellent opportunity to improve their grades in the sports they are studying the trip also presented a number of exciting opportunities for the pupils to take part in new activities that they hadn't done before, such as surfing and body boarding.

The pupils arrived late Sunday evening after a six hour coach journey and were straight down onto the beach to stretch their legs and play some beach games before settling into their home for the week.

Monday to Friday was a very intensive programme with morning activity slots from 9.30-12.30pm and then another from 1:30-4:30pm. The afternoon activity slots were followed by Dinner and then an evening activity slot from 7:00-9:00pm!

Tuesday evening saw the students enjoying a physical break as they completed their GCSE Maths Exam mock.

Needless to say, by the end of the week the students were exhausted but, thankfully, their hard work earned them some excellent grades.

Hopefully the whole experience will be one that they will remember forever!
