Bede’s is proud to announce the selection of two former pupils in Cricket England’s exclusive winter training squads.

Ollie Rayner, who attended both Bede’s Prep and Senior Schools, has had an exceptional season and finished as one of the leading spin bowlers in the domestic game, taking 51 wickets and helping Middlesex to win the County Championship. He has been selected for the England Lions Squad.

Similarly, Delray Rawlins, who joined Bede’s in the Sixth Form in 2014 to enhance his all-round cricket development, has performed well for the Sussex Academy and the County 2nd XI has been selected in a group that will attend Cricket England training camps in both Loughborough and Dubai in November and December.

Bede’s Director of Cricket and ex-England International Alan Wells said of Ollie and Delray’s accomplishments, “Ollie has had an extraordinary year and thoroughly deserves his spot.

"Delray meanwhile finished the season with a century against Durham, and it is remarkable that, at just 19, he now has the opportunity to progress on to the Young Lions tour to India early next year. Hearty congratulations and best of luck to them both.”
