Cricket: Peter Moores And Guests Enliven Charity Dinner

Bede’s Cricket Academy was delighted to welcome ex-England national coach and current Head Coach at Nottinghamshire CCC Peter Moores for a fundraising evening for the upcoming tour of South Africa by Bede’s Development XI cricketers.

The fundraising dinner, held at the Martin-Jenkins Pavilion on Thursday 19 January, saw a capacity crowd enjoy hearing from Peter, and Bede’s alumni currently working as professional cricketers Ollie Rayner (Middlesex) and Luke Wells (Sussex).

The evening, ably compered by Neil Lenham, himself a former Sussex cricketer and now Cricket Development Coach at Bede’s, saw attendees asking questions ranging from who were the best players and fastest bowlers they had faced to the greatest influences on their careers.

Peter Moores was also asked about his international career, including his relationship with Kevin Peterson, and all questions were answered with style.

Director of Cricket at Bede’s Alan Wells said of the evening, "All who attended had a wonderful time and we are indebted to Peter, Ollie and Luke for giving so generously of their time."
