Netball @ Hurst U13 Tournament

Bede’s 1st VII had a fabulous tournament. The girls were able to adapt and change their play to create some great opportunities. Turnovers were strong in the midcourt and the creation of space and ball-side options were continuous!

In the Group Stages they:

Won 6-4 versus Pennthorpe School

Won 5-4 versus Christ Hospital School

Lost 3-2 versus Hurstpierpoint College Prep School

Drew 4-4 versus Lingfield Notre Dame Prep School

Won 5-4 versus St Christopher’s Prep School

Lost 9-6 versus Brighton College Prep School

The girls then had two playoffs, earning a strong win in the first play-off against Handcross, In the second playoff they competed strongly against Hurst and were able to secure a draw.

They finished in 5th place overall, from a pool of 15.

Special mentions must go to Emelia Sylvester Williams for playing up for the A squad and remaining focused and determined on court and Milly Trenaman who played up from U12A and was a great addition to the team in the centre court.

U12Bs drew 0-0

Swimming versus Claremont Prep School

Bede’s Prep School’s swimmers were in action on Monday evening against Claremont. The swimming was of an exceptional standard with Bede’s showing amazing speed and technique throughout the gala.

Juan Pomet Chamorro, Declan Shanks and Fernan Pomet Chamorro started the gala off well in the Individual Medley. A great deal of practise has gone in to the relays and this was so clear with great starts and handovers giving Bede’s five 1st places and narrowly missing a win in the U11 and U13 Freestyle Relays by just a hand length.

Bede’s were successful in many of the Individual events with the swimmers showing great starts and tumble turns.

Well done to all the swimmers who won all their events.

Congratulations to everyone who swam. I was so proud of you all!
