Bede's Pupils Make A Splash Of Colour For Charity

On Sunday 17 September the girls of Crossways and Dorter united to take part in the Colour Run.

This hugely successful event was planned in support of their respective House Charities, The Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team and Children with Cancer.

With hundreds of participants dressed in a huge variety of creative outfits, we all had one thing in common – a determination to raise money for charity whilst having fun.

A highly organised team of paint throwers placed themselves at strategic points around the course. The excitement mounted.

There was a wonderful party atmosphere as the music pounded and the Colour Runners took their positions at the starting line, ready to run the gauntlet of Mr Rohmer’s fire extinguisher-propelled paint arch!

The starting horn sounded and the runners set off through the starting gate, beaming from ear to ear.

A spirit of joy and togetherness could be felt throughout the race and continued beyond the finish line. It was a magical spectacle of hundreds of young people covered from head to toe in a rainbow of paint.

The photos speak for themselves; seeing such an eclectic group from a wide range of nationalities and age groups only emphasised the sense of unity and togetherness which is such a characteristic feature of Bede’s.

Thank you to everyone who turned out and supported the Colour Run making it so successful, including the runners and supporters from the boys’ boarding houses.

Both Dorter and Crossways Houses are delighted with the money raised for charity, we are looking forward to next year already!
