Bede's Girls Honoured At Sussex WCA Awards

Pupils from both Bede’s Prep and Senior Schools attended the Sussex Women’s Cricket Association awards night to celebrate their successes.

The night proved to be a great success for Bede’s, with five girls earning County representative honours for their performances during the cricket season.

With girls’ cricket growing in popularity both nationally and internationally, the girls’ achievements reflect the Schools desire to be at the forefront of the game.

For the U17s, Ellie Robinson was awarded the Bowling Award and Polly McCarthy was awarded the Most Improved Player and Players’ Player Award.

Ariana Dowse, U15 was awarded Player of the Year, Izzy Atherton, U13 was awarded the Bowling Award and for the Juniors Kayla Ginger, U11 was awarded the Most Improved Player.

Commenting on their success, Petch Lenham, Head of Senior Girls’ Cricket said, ‘’The girls have all had a great season, both for the School and their County, the awards are a result of all their hard work and are thoroughly deserved.’’
