Stud House Hosts Cheese and Wine Evening For Charity
Friday 22 September saw the second Stud House Cheese and Wine Evening in aid of the House charity, the ABC Fund.
The Anne Bickmore Children’s Fund is a local charity based in Sussex whose aims are to offer enjoyable opportunities to children, young people and their carers, particularly those with disabilities or special needs.
There were over 60 parents, pupils and staff in attendance and they were able to enjoy the talents of Tom Adams, Louis Davison and Tom Harrison (now known as the band, TLT) who played jazz beautifully throughout the evening.
There was a Cheese and Wine quiz; who knew that ‘Pule’, the most expensive cheese in the world and is made from Donkey milk or that there are 20 standard bottles of Champagne in a Nebuchadnezzar?
I would just like to thank the Stud staff for all of their hard work, the boys for their exemplary behaviour (and their insatiable appetite which saw them polish off 21 different types of cheese including a whole smoked Manchego), but mostly the parents and guardians of Stud House who donated both on the door and throughout the evening.
The final figure raised during the evening for the ABC Fund was £220, giving us a great start to the year to try and beat our 2016-17 total of £3,000. Please look out for Stud Parents’ Race Night later in the year.
Following the success of the Cheese and Wine charity fundraiser, Stud House pupil Theo Silk completed the Hever Castle Triathlon on 23 September.
He completed the super sprint in 1 hour and 49 minutes, raising over £350 in aid of Macmilan Cancer Support, an incredible achievement!
