Stud House Hosts Formal Dinner And Evensong
The Stud House formal dinner and evensong took place recently and 84 boys and 16 staff and guests looked resplendent in their bow ties and evening dress!
The evening commenced in the chaplaincy with a powerful speech from Reverend Buckler on ‘first impressions’.
A lovely service set the tone for the rest of the night. The readings were clearly well thought out and beautifully read, and the prayer in seven languages was a nod to the international makeup of Stud House.
After, we made a short journey from the chapel to the recital room to be greeted by a beautiful display, which lit up the room and got us into the festive spirit.
We dined on a delicious three course dinner, which went down a treat, but in some cases ‘eyes too big for stomach’ was very apt!
Throughout the course of the evening, we were blessed with some wonderful performances from Ed Gao and Jonny Keegan, who sang beautifully. Theo Silk played a moving piece on the piano and Tom Adams and Tom Harrison played a brilliant musical piece.
Finally pudding was served, and to top the evening off Jens delivered a heart-felt speech as Head of Stud House.
Unfortunately, the evening was coming to a close, however only after an inspiring talk from Mr Rohmer. He talked to us about his childhood in East Berlin, which was very interesting to how different his early life was compared to our life at Bede’s. This made us think how fortunate we are to live in Britain and go to a brilliant school!
A fantastic evening was had by all and it was a wonderful opportunity to bond with the members of Stud House.
