Success For Bede's Footballers

The 2017-18 football season at Bede’s has started with a spring in its step with the past few weeks being very successful for our footballers.

On Sunday 22 January Tom Collins and Nasje Brockington represented the Independent Schools Football Association against Everton U16 Academy. Both performed incredibly well at Everton’s famous Finch Farm training complex in testing weather conditions.

On Sunday 28 January, Leilanni Nesbeth joined the Brighton and Hove Albion Ladies Squad for their away fixture against Doncaster in the Women’s Premier League. Leilanni was brought on in the 85th minute in an attacking midfield role to make her first competitive debut for the team. Despite Brighton losing 4-1, this is a remarkable achievement for an U17 to be playing at such a high level and bodes well for a future career in football.

It is incredible to have Bede’s footballers already playing at such high standards. The experiences they have gained playing against the very best players in the country will only help Leilanni, Tom and Nasje to improve. They thoroughly deserve these opportunities because of the way they work tirelessly on the sports field.
