BTEC Sport Pupils Hosts Mini Winter Olympics For Local Primary School

Recently, we had the opportunity to host 60 children from Pevensey and Westham primary school.

As part of the National Diploma Sport Leadership Unit, our pupils had to plan and lead a safe sports event for a local primary school.

Sixth Formers gave the children an overview of the jam packed day. Buzzing with energy, they were keen to get involved in the games we had planned.

The aim was for the pupils to have a Winter Olympics inspired morning of games, including indoor curling, speed racing, ski jumping and biathlon, competing against each other in teams representing different countries.

Ally Orr, Sixth Form BTEC Sport pupil said of the event, “Competitive team spirit was rife and it was great to see every child working exceptionally hard to win for themselves and their teams. Everyone did very well and completed some very challenging events. It was a privilege to have the opportunity to work with the children.”
