Lower Sixth Look Ahead With Futures Week
Monday 18 – Friday 22 June saw all Lower Sixth pupils engage in interactive and informative workshops, seminars and talks for Futures Week to equip and inspire them for their next steps.
The sessions focused on UCAS university applications, apprenticeships, professional online networking, interview skills, personal statement writing, CV development and life skills (including basic first aid, basic car maintenance, cooking, and employment and finance).
Sessions were led by representatives from eight specialist organisations (including Inspiring Futures, Unifrog, Standing Tall UK, Interactives and Bede’s caterers Holroyd Howe), as well as Senior School staff from across the teaching and non-teaching departments.
Miss Louise Morris, Head of Bede’s Diploma, said, “The week went really well and the feedback from pupils and staff has been overwhelmingly positive. The pupils enjoyed the practical focus and variety of the workshops, and had a lot of fun while developing invaluable skills for the future.
“I was very impressed with the pupils’ attitude and maturity in the sessions – they demonstrated a real focus and commitment to the tasks in hand, and were brilliant ambassadors for their year group and the School.”
