Pupil Excels At The South Of England Show

Upper Sixth pupil Dylan Allenby-Ryan has excelled at the recent South of England show.

As part of his A Level in Design Technology, Dylan was given the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge he has acquired and developed throughout the course, to design and make a product of his choice.

Dylan's client commissioned a wine rack with storage for glasses and a preparation area for drinks. His design is made entirely from ash to give a light feel to the piece, with modern acrylic tubes for the bottle storage, with contrastingly classic plinth design, which, while having a contemporary edge, would not look out of place in a traditional setting.

A number of Bede's pupils' projects were entered for the Young Craftsman of the Year Award 2018 at the South of England Show, Ardingly.

Dylan was awarded the 'Worshipful Company of Joiners and Ceilers' award for the best joinery in class at the show.

We are extremely proud of Dylan's achievements and this award is a fitting tribute for the hours and hours of work over the last several months, both in class and long into the evenings.
